This reconditioned kit was like new. Other than the reconditioned markings, it was the same as new, as far as I could discern. The performance of these tools is more than adequate for most of the handyman work I do. I use the driver for most tasks and the impactor for tasks that require more torque. I now only use my 14.4v DeWalt impact driver for continuous heavy duty driving. I am very happy with my purchase. However, I would probably buy the new kit from Amazon for a few dollars more if I had to do it again.
